Tuna Salad
Tuna salad is the perfect summer snack. Whether you are having it alone, as a sandwich/wrap or with some crackers. It is a delicious, protein rich snack/meal depending on how you make it. I am very picky when it comes to “salads” like chicken, egg, macaroni and tuna. I can’t stand mayonnaise. I know, I know, unpopular opinion, so I use an alternative called *Veganaise. I have tweaked this recipe so many times throughout the years. Sean and I made a batch recently and it is just SO good.
If you are looking to try a new tuna salad, here you go.
I like to make this recipe in a large batch so that I can make sandwiches for a few days, but if you want a smaller batch just cut this in half.
Ingredients
4 cans of Albacore Tuna
1/2 cup Veganaise original
(Start with this and add more depending on the consistency that you like)
5 stalks of celery finely diced
1/2 red onion finely diced
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp everything bagel seasoning
1 tsp dill or use fresh dill
Steps
First drain out all the cans of tuna as much as you can, then mix into a large bowl. Mix tuna and veganaise together well. Add more veganaise as you mix depending on the consistency that you prefer. I always start with less and add more if needed. Add diced onion and celery and mix well. Finally add spices and thoroughly mix together.
I love to have this in a sandwich, on toast, on a bagel, with crackers and just by itself. This is a great recipe to get in some extra protein.
