Creating A Sporty Chic Comfy Style
I feel like I really started hearing and seeing the term “athleisure” used more regularly the past few years. Currently it’s very trendy, but I have always loved the whole athleisure/street wear look. Athleisure apparel (for those who don’t know) is a hybrid style between casual, comfy, relaxed, with a classy/chic aesthetic. At least that’s how I define it. I want to look put together, but super casual at the same time. Don’t get me wrong, I love jeans, heels and other apparel, but for my everyday running errands, doing activities, daily stuff, I gravitate towards athleisure.
Its so versatile too which I love and can be edited many different ways. There are a few staples you need to have in your athleisure capsule that include:
—Bottoms—
joggers/sweatpants/leggings/bike shorts/yoga pants
—Tops—
basic tees (short and long sleeve) body suits, sweaters, hoodies, tank tops-
—Shoes—
sneakers, slides, sandals, loafers, flats, a lot of options here!
These are the basics, which may seem boring to some, but the fun part is you can elevate it with chic accessories. For example, if I am wearing biker shorts and an oversized tee, I will jazz it up with some jewelry pieces and a cute bag. These fits are super comfortable, chic, cozy and make me feel the most confident on a daily basis. I still feel like I am getting “ready” but I don’t feel constrained or itching to get into more comfortable clothing the minute I get home.
If you have some of the basics, you are able to mix and match to create a variety of fits. Athleisure is a great choice if you are either working from home or trying to get work done around the home. I find if I get up and get dressed shortly after waking up my productivity levels go up.
