EVERYDAY SUPPLEMENTS FOR HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
DIM
I am not going to go into detail here in the post on DIM aka Diindolylmethane is a compound derived from the digestion of indole-3-carbinol, found in cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage and kale. I have a post here where I talk ALL about this supplement and my experience taking it. It has truly transformed my skin and has really helped balance my hormones.
GREENS POWDER
I love this greens powder in by Athletic Greens. You get a full range of vitamins and minerals (this is my multivitamin), pro and prebiotics, fiber, adaptogens, and of course nutrient dense greens! Over the years I have tried SO many greens powders and this one is the first one I have found that tastes good! I can drink it with just some cold water and not cringe. I don’t need it to taste like a milkshake or anything but I just can’t drink a glass of mowed lawn. This is an amazing addition in your smoothies too. It can be a challenge getting adequate vegetables each day. I feel very “healthy” and productive when I take this. When I am not taking this, I do take a multivitamin and I love *New Chapter’s Once Daily Women’s.
FISH OIL
There are so many fish oils on the market but I love the quality standards this brand takes. I take their 1 a day but they offer it in a 2 a day easy swallow mini as well which is pictured above. I can’t with this 2-3 a day giant ass pills (gag). These also do not have any burb up effect that a lot of fish oils have. *Wiley’s is over 1,000mg of concentrated fish oil. MSC certified, made in the USA and practices sustainability. I personally chose this one because of its high content, 750mg of EPA. EPA or Eicosapentaenoic acid helps support cardiovascular levels, depression and joint health. When I am consistent with my omegas I notice it in my joints, hair, skin and nails.
ELECTROLYTES
Electrolytes are not only essential for hydrating the body but they jazz up your water drinking routine. If water bores you then this is a great way to enhance your water and encourage more of it. It certainly gets me to drink more water through out the day. Ultima’s electrolytes taste delicious and have zero sugar. It’s hard to find a sugar free electrolyte powder that doesn’t have artificial sweeteners and crap in it. I love to fill up my Owalle bottle with lots of ice, cold water and a scoop of electrolytes. It is so incredibly refreshing. My favorite is blue raspberry and pink lemonade.
C & D GUMMIES
Mary Ruth’s gummies are so good. Low sugar, no artificial coloring or flavoring, non-goo, minimal added ingredients and you don’t have to take 3-4 gummies to get your serving. With *Vitamin C and *D3 I like to get these through my multivitamin or greens powder or just daily nutrition, but during certain times of the year, I use these supplements to help boost my immune system. These are both ONE gummy a day. Taste delicious and a great way to add extra vitamins when you need it. For example, if I am around friends, family or co-workers that have been sick, I will make sure I take these for a couple weeks just to ensure I am getting a high dose of C and D3. I take a lot of supplements so when I can find a good chewable vitamin, it’s a nice break from giant pills.
THROAT SPRAY
This *throat spray is like lip balm to me, meaning I have several and I keep them close to me at all times. I swear this stuff has helped my immunity so much. Because I work in retail and am around people all the time, this is a savor. I can’t tell you how many times I felt like I was fighting something off or I would feel the onsets of something creeping in my throat. I would spray this through out the day and I didn’t get sick. I really respect this whole company. Their night time cough syrup is amazing too. Do not underestimate the power of the bee!
CACAO SUPERFOOD HONEY
Okay, I feel kinda guilty placing this delicious chocolatey treat as a supplement but it is! This product is also from Beekeepers. I like to just take a tablespoon of this stuff straight up cause it’s so yummy or I will add it to my smoothie, with peanut butter. Or simply mixed with this yogurt. Think chocolate pudding. It’s pure honey with cacao. Fun fact cacao is a very potent antioxidant. *cacao superfood honey
Over the years I have dialed in on the supplements that I take each day. I want majority of nutrients to come from my food so eating balanced and intuitively is my first and foremost priority. But, I also want to be boosted and be able to fight off anything that might come my way.
Friendly reminder that these are supplements that work for me. I did my own research on all of these products before taking them. I am not a doctor or nurse and I do not recommend taking anything without doing your own research and consulting with your health care provider . These are just my personal opinions on these supplements and me sharing why I like to take these.
