Festive Movies That I love During The Holiday Season

11 days till Christmas guys!

Whether you’re wrapping up your Christmas shopping (pun intended), finally getting to decorating your home, or working like crazy. I hope you are finding pockets of time throughout the day to take a deep breath, be present, and find gratitude. I know that this time of year can be difficult for a lot.

Honestly, I love this time of year so much, but I do have moments where it’s overwhelming and emotional. Taking a step back and thinking about my loved ones and all I have, sets the tone of my thoughts and really does help my mindset. It really is all about romanticizing the small stuff. Your morning cup of coffee, sitting in silence while enjoying your tree, Christmas music, the winter season, and relaxing to a classic Christmas film.

Sean and I love to binge our favorite holiday movies starting in December. These are the top 11 that we watch almost every year. They are classics!!! You’ll laugh, you’ll cry and you will certainly get all the holiday feels! So 11 days till Christmas and 11 movies. You got one movie each night. So once you get home from work, do your self-care routine, make some hot cider or cocoa and bask in the Christmas spirit with these fun, light hearted, funny movies. These are in no particular order.

The Santa Clause

In no particular order, but, this one is probably my all time favorite. It’s just so nostalgic for me. My mom would put this on Christmas Eve and I have the best childhood memories of me and my sister captured by this movie. If you were a child of the 80’s or 90’s you know.

Bad Santa

*For adults only. View discretion is advised.”

A funny as hell dark comedy not suitable for children. You will love it.

Jingle All The Way

t

Arnold and Sin Bad are just the perfect duo. It never gets old. Definitely in my top 5 all time favorite Christmas movies.

Krampus

I couldn’t have a movie list without adding a little darkness/horror to the mix, even on Christmas. The creepy legend of Krampus.

A Christmas Story

The definition of a true classic. Looking forward to seeing the new one that just came out! 40 years later! How crazy?

Home Alone

If you watch Home Alone, you have to see Home Alone 2, too. The soundtrack in these is the best.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

A move by Tim Burton? I’m watching it. This movie is magical. It stands the test of time and will always be a must see holiday movie.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas

There are a lot Grinch movies but this one in particular with Jim Carrey is the best. I remember seeing this in the theatre with my family and it brings that memory back each time.

Elf

You know that lyric “everyones a kid at Christmas time”? Well this movie embodies that. Will Ferrel is amazing in this.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

The definition of funny. Showcases the chaos that is the holiday season.

The Family Stone

Such a cute feel good movie about the ebbs and flows of family. The casting in this is perfect and it’s just a cozy, warm film for those days it’s cold out and you just want to be home.

Have you seen all of these? Which is your favorite? Comment below or message me on Instagram. I’ll be back later this week for another blog post. Sharing a new recipe with you guys that I think you’ll love.

XO,

Charlene
